CTC Insulation Types  - Diamond Wrap CTC (US Patent 6,051,793)

This covering currently consists of two opposing wraps of NOMEX^® 410, arranged to allow free oil flow through the CTC Strands for cooling purposes.  A 0.38mm Linear Protection Crepe paper is normally inserted on the underside of the cable (under the Diamond wrap). This product has been used extensively for low voltage coils, and is normally supplied as an Epoxy CTC product, using Concentric or Radial Bond coating.  Diamond Wrap gives a 0.008”(0.02 mm) Nominal Insulation Build.
